"Stacked" is an abstract art piece based on rocks of various types. There are three part to this construction. At the base are three large granite boulders with cut and polished surfaces revealing a dark blue finish. On top of that are stratified layers of rock slab of various colors and composition. Finally, on top are several vertical pieces of polished stone forming a column.
The piece was place in 1990.
The piece was created by David Middlebrook and placed at this location in 1990. The artwork is part of a multiple work park landscape off Turn Pike Drive in Folsom, California. There are several other artwork displays all along Turn Pike Drive.
The Stacked art piece is just over 6 feet high with the base forming roughly triangular foundation approximately 5 feet in diameter.
