Built in 1845 to replace the original Meeting House, the Town Hall was more of a center of social activity than a place to conduct town business.

The town held their meetings in the Town Hall until 1950, when the construction of the new elementary school replaced the site of the meetings. Most of the town officers conducted town business in their own homes.

The Congregational Church expended their funds in 1895 to create a dining room space and equip the kitchen. The Grange, organized in 1874 held bi-monthly programs such as plays, entertainment, and socials in the building.

In recent years with the growth of the town has forced the people to bring the business aspect of running a town back into the Town Hall.
