The cost of the church was $4,500 paid over 4 years. In 1878 the church had 60 members. As the population of Heath diminished, the lower level of the church was rented out as a store. In 1892 the population could no longer support 3 churches and the Methodists merged with the Baptists and Congregationalists. The building was empty until 1923, when it was acquired by the historical society to be used as a community hall. The building was donated to the Town in 1955. The upper floor was used for town meetings. In the 1970's and 80's square dances were held twice a month.
