The building was built as a store by Daniel Spooner in 1793. He sold the store to Hezekiah Chesney in 1798 and then later sold to Ephriam Tucker in 1806. In the 1920's there was a gas pump in front and the post office was also housed in it. It as last operated as a store in 1956.
