The description of the station from "Appendix ZZ - Report of the Missouri River Commission" is:
"HAMBURG is one mile below the town of Hamburg on the center one of three prominent bluffs. It is within 60 feet of the edge of a perpendicular rock bluff in a cleared of Adam Iman and is 12 feet in front of an old log house."
