“Dalida” was born Yolanda Cristina Gigliotti on January 17, 1933, and died May 3, 1987. She won the Miss Egypt beauty contest in 1954. She was a multi-lingual singer quite popular in Europe, particularly in France. In America she is remembered for popular songs in foreign languages, such as Besame Mucho (Youtube: (visit link) and Bambino (Youtube: (visit link) .
