North Main BBQ began life back in 1981 as a part-time operation, making barbecue on the side while the main focus was truck repair. Today, they are an institution in the DFW Metroplex, and as they're open but three days a week, they are always busy. Parking up front can be an issue, so be aware that there is parking 'round back. Their hours are:
Friday - Saturday: 11 AM to 9 PM
Sunday: 11 AM to 4 PM
They serve up ribs, chopped and sliced beef brisket, chicken breast, pork shoulder, and sausage, with sides of beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and assorted relishes. You can get your food as a plate or as a sandwich. Most folks go for the ribs. Soft drinks are available, including sweetened or unsweetened tea, and they are BYOB if you'd prefer something stronger. If you have room after your meal, they have soft-serve ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.
There really _is_ a pig-out meal here, as they offer up a buffet for $15, which includes your soft drink. Eat as much as you like. Folks are generally skeptical of a buffet, but many of those skeptics see the light after a visit here. Sandwiches are six bucks for those on a budget, although meat can be purchased by the pound or fraction thereof.
Seating is bench-style, like many joints here in the Lone Star State, and even though they are always busy, there's plenty of room for everybody.
