Shards is a work of colors, looking like shards of bright shapes and tones. It was created by Michaele le Compte, a local artist who teaches at Sacramento City College.

The work resides at the corner of Turn Pike Drive and John Henry Circle.

The material used is not given, though it appears to be painted metal or ceramic. The piece consists of oddly shaped pieces with bright colors in a square frame. The piece is approximately 4 feet high and 6 feet long with open spaces between the elements.
