This has been the school in Jordan Valley since 1911. It is still used as an elementary school. The original building is made of basalt, but it has been added on to since then. The high school was moved out in the 1950s and this school then had the first through eighth grades spread out among the four classrooms.
Sometime before 1975, a wooden expansion which included bathrooms, the office and the library was added to the east side of the building. In the 1980s, a mobile unit was brought in on the east side of the original building to house another classroom since the class sizes were increasing.
In the 1990s, a gymnasium was added on to the west side of the building to give the students a place to exercise out of the bitter cold of winter at over 5000 feet elevation. Since then, two more modular units have been brought in to serve as classrooms.
