Stone Hall was completed in 1936, in the midst of The Depression. South of The Oval, it is in the second tier of buildings surrounding The Oval.

Given the time of its construction, this building could well have been funded by either the PWA or the WPA, as were a total of five buildings on the campus, but we can't be certain of that.
Today the building houses the Geology Department, The College of Forestry and Conservation Laboratories and the Central and Southwestern Asian Studies Center.
