Located on a lawn in front of a sculpture titled "Metamorphosis" and near the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center on the Eisenhower Medical Center campus is a plaque containing an inscription that reads:

"METAMORPHOSIS"

I FEEL THE IMPORTANCE OF SHOWING HOW AN ABUSED CHILD, THROUGH THE LOVING CARE AND HEALING POWER OF THE BARBARA SINATRA CHILDREN'S CENTER, CAN BE GENTLY LED BY THE HAND OUT OF THE DARKNESS OF IMMEASURABLE MISERY TO LEAP FORWARD INTO THE LIGHT OF A NEW DAWN AND ONTO A PATH THAT TRANSCENDS SUFFERING, AND FREES THEM FROM FEAR.

BY

JOHN KENNEDY, FEB '99
DONATED BY CONNIE & DAVID KATZ

This quote was made by artist John Kennedy, not to be confused with the former President of the Unites States, nor his son, John F. Kennedy Jr. Kennedy has a professional website of his work located here. Kennedy passed away in 2004 but his work lives on through this sculptures and many others he created over the years.
