I have seen similar painted buildings in my travels so it is likely this was the original colour. A large building that has accommodation upstairs, a cafe on the ground floor & which abuts a small park.
There are many dated building in the main street of Lithgow which is an industrial city that enjoyed considerable growth in the late nineteenth, early twentieth centuries with the extension of the railway over the Blue Mountains & the discovery of vast coal deposits.
The building is in a reasonable state of repair.
