In 1501 the owners of the town, the Lords of Žerotín, gave the town a free building so that a town hall could be established there. This building became one of the most notable houses on the square. The Town Hall is distinguished by its tower with clock and gallery. It was converted to its current Renaissance Revival appearance in 1930. It houses the Municipal Authority of Nový Jicín.
