The statue of the Dancing Farmers by Franz Berwig dating from 1929, has been a thorn in the eye of many town residents in the time of Czech-German disputes before WWII. The reason is simple – the farmers’ are dressed in German folk costumes of Kravare. The statue was originally meant to be placed in the municipal orchards, but the town hall eventually decided to situated it on the square as a part of fountain and it is now an intrinsic town symbol.
