Located at 107 Merrimac Street, the boutique hotel was once known as the Bulfinch Hotel, named for this historic district: the Bulfinch Triangle. Architect Charles Bulfinch designed the street layouts for a district which in Colonial times had been the Mill Pond.
The triangular industrial building was built in 1904 with the Flatiron building in New York City as the model.
In 2004, renovations and three additional storeys enlarged the space available for hotel rooms.
In 2014, the hotel is known as The Boxer.
