Location: The official address for Quinpool Park is 22 Quinpool Crescent, Ottawa, Ontario. This small park stretches, along its longest dimension, for just over 100 meters from the end of its entrance corridor. The generally lozenge-shaped park occupies the interior of the western portion of Quinpool Crescent, with many of the homes on the Crescent backing onto it. One enters the actual park via a hedged corridor between the yards of the two homes to either side of the park’s 22 Quinpool Crescent address. Quinpool Park lies a bit south of the center of the Bells Corners neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario. Bells Corners is a small, largely residential, community, formerly part of the City of Nepean before it was annexed by the City of Ottawa. Bells Corners is entirely surrounded by the City of Ottawa's Greenbelt.
Description: Quinpool Park is one of the smaller parks in Bells Corners. It derives its name from the crescent that gives it its address. At the entrance to the park, there is no sign to indicate the presence of the park, and the narrow entry passage to its interior location means that passers-by can easily overlook the park's presence. The park serves primarily as green space within Quinpool Crescent. The park is essentially a lawn with some trees in it, and some shrubbery around parts of its perimeter. It contains no benches, no picnic tables, no play equipment, no sports facilities, no paths, and no gardens. Its size and generally narrow lozenge shape are not conducive to any organized sports. Quinpool Park does not see a lot of usage. It is probably best suited to quiet summer activities such as catch with younger children who would not throw balls or Frisbees into the yards backing onto the park, and perhaps building snowmen in the winter. Park maintenance consists primarily of mowing the grass in the summer, and the removal of such branches as fall from the park’s trees.
Quinpool Park appears in the City of Ottawa's official database of municipal parks, and is searchable on Google Earth, and Google Maps, with images of the park’s entrance corridor available on the latter’s Street View feature.
