The Masonic Hall sits high on a hill overlooking Portland. It is double story with a Greek Classical entrance & in a very good state of repair. There is some flaking of paint around the windows.

Portland was the site of Australia's first cement works which operated from 1890 to 1991. The town of Portland took its name from the process used to produce cement. The works was a major employer even building many of the homes & businesses in town to support its workforce. This hall & many other buildings were built as a direct result of the income generated by this enterprise.
Year of construction: 1923
