"Based on a phenomenon in Utah near the Great Salt Lake where stones "travel" mysteriously, this piece juxtaposes them with suitcases. Fifteen stone suitcases transform and meld into each other to create stories of travel."

This station is truly an intermodal station, where city bus, light rail, heavy rail, Amtrak and Greyhound all converge. And so it seems fitting that in a place where so much traveling is being done, a great piece (or pieces) of sculpture would find such a fitting home!

Scattered throughout the entire Salt Lake Central Station complex, these interesting individual pieces of sculpture reside in total harmony with the surrounding environment. They represent a convergence of traveling public (suitcases) and a natural phenomena in the Utah desert of mysteriously moving rocks.

These are quite interesting to see, and well-worth a visit if you're ever in downtown Salt Lake City . . .
