Soller the newspaper was founded in 1885 by Joan Marques Arbona, and has been printing weekly ever since.
It is printed on a Saturday and provides information about the city and other municipalities in the region (Deia, Fornalutx and Escorca), paying particular attention to culture.
On a normal week it has around 40 pages, some in colour. When it is printed at festival times the size expands to around 100 pages.
The paper was printed in this building originally owned by Joan Marques Arbona until 1972 when the Serra group based in Palma took over the design and printing of the paper.
The plaque on the wall has the town coat of arms and the following text in Catalan.
EL POBLE DE SOLLER
AL SEU SETMANARI
SOLLER
1885 --- 1985
The rough translation in English is
SOLLER TOWN'S
WEEKLY
SOLLER
1885 --- 1985
