County of lookout: Pulaski County
Location of lookout: Teardrop Road, just west of Devils Elbow [the town], on Old Route 66

This overlook, now looks like a concrete bridge abutment, but it is a lookout.
If you look in the gallery, I have a photo of what you once saw. The big Piney River, and the bridge at the actual Devils Elbow, a viscous bend in the Big Piney River, and a beautiful valley view.

A route 66 historic marker is at the site and the text reads:
"DEVIL'S ELBOW, PULASKI COUNTY, MISSOURI
Established in 1870 and named after a bad bend in the Big Piney River, this "devil of an elbow" was made famous by historic route 66.

Recognized by Hampton Hotels Save-A-Landmark program as a site worth seeing."

No facilities at the lookout, but just down the hill in "town: there is a Inn with food, drink, rest rooms, etc...
