Zanjero Park highlights the role of canal tenders in the development of agriculture in the Gilbert area. The park includes a typical canal setup, a horse watering trough and trails and walking trails for dogs and their people. Along the southern edge of the park are a series of artificial burrows for owls with perches outside of each burrow. The owls will sit outside their burrow or on the perch and hunt in the nearby field. They are quite tolerant of visitors.
