Monsignor Franz Julian, Graf Braida (*7.II.1654 in Znojmo - †15.V.1729 in Olomouc) was canon of chapters in Olomouc and Wroclaw, titular bishop of Hippo and auxilliary bishop of Olomouc.
The construction of an early Baroque four-winged residencein Wurmova Street 7 was initiated by the canon Franz Anton, Graf Losenstein, in 1681. The front wing with its high pilaster order and attic was completed, together with the side wings, in 1705 at the time of the canon Franz Julian Graf Braida. In the niche in the front right-hand corner there is a statue of St. John of Nepomuk, probably from the workshop of David Zürn. The rear wing, with its arcades, is partly from the early Baroque period, around 1681. The stonework is the work of the stonemason Wenzel Schilller. The home chapel of the Holy Cross, with its Rococo figural and illusive paintings, was created over the years 1745-1752, when the residence was owned by the canon Leopold Count Eckg. The Ceremonial Hall on the floor is covered with rococo murals with allegories of the four seasons.
