Budova sokolovny patrí k rade zajímavých secesních staveb, které na prelomu 19. a 20. století pribyly mestu. Vnitrní socharskou výzdobu provedl semilský rodák J.J.Hlava, student Myslbekuv.

Sokolovna building is part of a number of interesting Art Nouveau buildings, which in the turn of 19th and 20th centuries were added to the city. Inside the sculptural decoration was made by Semily native J.J. Hlava, student of famous sculptor Myslbek.
