An extensive web search turned up nothing on this church, or on Everett Bunch listed as the pastor on the sign. It is a bit of a mystery. It has a nice bell tower, and there is still a propane tank in the back. We saw a fluorescent light on in the building. But the fascia is all rotted off, as is one of the outside doors. The church sign is propped up against the back of the building, which is badly in need of paint. A recent satellite view shows several cars parked at the church, and there were clear signs of car tires on the Easter Sunday that we visited it. There are 3 pieces of playground equipment: a merry-go-round (broken), teeter totters, and a monkey bar.
The topographic maps call this Liberty Union Church, from the days when it was a union church - the type of church that had different pastors preach each week - perhaps a Presbyterian one week, a Baptist the next, a Methodist the next, and so on. It eventually became a Bible Church, probably similar to the independent fundamental churches this poster attended for many years.
