The focal point of the rural community is the 2 stone mills, 1823-25 Crown Mill and the 1827 Eagle Mill. There is a brick structure connecting the 2 mills over the Mumford River. The 2 mills were built by Robert Roberston which are representative of the American textile industry. The Crown Mill is oldest stone mill still existing in Massachusetts with a clerestory-monitor roof.
