In 1887 a stone church was built to serve the growing community within the parish of St. Isidore. A 740-pound brass bell, christened St. Anne, was purchased from Mr. Henry McShane in 1891. It was blessed by Archbishop Duhamel of Ottawa on November 15 of that year.
For many years prior to the urbanization of South March, the area farmers would hear the bell ring and stop for lunch. Between August 2010 and December 2011 the 123-year-old stone church was demolished and replaced while keeping some of the original elements. The design of the old wooden steeple was replicated in steel. The bell was restored and lifted 102 feet up into a lighted spire to call the faithful on Sunday mornings.
