A genuine oldie, this bridge once carried wagons and later Model Ts, Hupmobiles and Model As over the Clark Fork River. It was built in 1892 as a wagon and vehicle bridge. It was originally on Higgins Avenue, the main river crossing into downtown Missoula, eight blocks to the west of its present location.
The bridge consists of a pair of truss sections supported by a pair of concrete piers in the centre of the river.
