In Needham, off Nehoiden Street, is the Needham Cemetery.

The cemetery is located on the north side of Nehoiden Street, a few blocks in from the intersection with Central Avenue. There are three entrances - two on Nehoiden Street and one on Parish Street.

From a Patch.com article:

"Jermiah Woodcock, Jonathon Hay, Thomas Metclaff and Eleazor Kingsbury founded the Needham Cemetery. The cemetery includes a portion of land granted by the inhabitants of Dedham."

Since its beginnings with the founding of the town, the cemetery now has over 2600 graves. The earliest ones are near Nehoiden Street, near a tall obelisk. The most recent ones are toward Parish Street and at the far end at the base of the hill. The terrain is gently hilly with many trees all around.

Near the center is the veterans area, surrounding a flagpole and near a monument that incorporates cannon barrels.

The most famous person/family buried there is William Carter and family. William Carter found the Wm. Carter and Company (now known as Carter's), which made underwear and children's clothing.
