Die gesamte Leybucht mit der Schleuse Leysiel gehört zum UNESCO Weltnaturerbe Wattenmeer. Wie das Foto zeigt, kann man dort sehr viele rastende Zugvögel sehen. Die Infotafel zeigt neben weiteren Zugvögeln auch den Kormoran, einen Standvogel, der ebenfalls gerne im Schleusenbereich pausiert. Zur Schleuse gelangt man nur zu Fuß oder mit dem Rad.
This area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. During spring and fall there are many migratory birds (see photo). This info board shows some of them and also the local cormorant, which is a sedentary bird. This area is for bikers and pedestrians only.
