In Needham, within the Needham Public Library, is a LEGO exhibit that is a accurate depiction of the Needham Town Hall and Common.

The Needham Public Library is located at the corner of Highland Avenue and Rosemary Street. The best entrance is via Rosemary Street. There is a parking lot, and you enter at the bottom level where the exhibit is. If you park in the lot on Highland Avenue, enter through the main door and walk generally straight (around the computer terminals) and down the stairs. If you look over the railing, you will see the exhibit below.

The exhibit itself is enclosed in a plexiglass case. It is roughly 4 ft square and on a table. The Needham Towh Hall is the red building in the back, while the common is directly in front. Both are bordered by roads. The details are very good. The common is filled with items such as the children ring statue near the bus station shelter. The cupola on the town hall has a lot of details including the gold dome top and the weather vane that has "1902" scrawled on it like the real one. Other details include the construction site along the edge of the common and the large tree.

The real Needham Town Hall and Common is located about a mile south along Highland Avenue.

From the article in Hometown Weekly the model was made by "Olin College Assistant Dean of Student Life Nick Tatar and Olin Professor Brad Minch joined with seven children and some Olin College students and in three months built a replica of Needham’s Town Hall and surrounding grounds and streets." There are over 15,000 LEGO pieces in this exhibit!

There is a notebook nearby that is where comments and suggestions are left. Add one of your own!
