The river - as well as the canals - it's an excellent way of transportation in Bangkok, a city usually plagued by the intense traffic generation by its 8 million inhabitants.

There are several routes serving a number of piers located in both banks of the river.

Phra Athit pier it's served by the Blue, Orange and Tourist line and it's ideal to visit the famous Kao Sanh road and Phra Nakkon neighborhood. The boats will have a colored flag - easily spotted - which identifies the route of the boat.

Besides the functional task, these boats are excellent for tourists. The ticket is exceptionally cheap - 0,35 Eur (flat rate) in April 2014 - and a ride is a great way to spend time and see Bangkok from the river.
