Direkt am S-Bahnhof Veddel (Ausgang Nord)kurz vor der Schleuse befindet sich eine Station von »StadtRAD«, an der man normalerweise 24 Fahrräder ausleihen kann. Die ersten dreißig Minuten sind dabei kostenlos, ab dann sind 8 Cent pro Minute fällig.
Die geliehenen Fahrräder können an beliebigen Stadtrad-Stationen in Hamburg wieder abgegeben werden.
