"Among the many volcanic features in the geo site, the most relevant are the littoral cone (or pseudo crater), the thermal water springs and the ultramafic xenoliths. On one of the underwater hot spring the water flows directly into the ocean, on a natural protected pool. The water rises at 62º C, mixing with the ocean and depending on the tide the ocean water is heated from 18ºC to 28ºC, on a salted thermal water mixture. Considered a unique scenario in the World, due to the existence thermal salt water with a high concentration of sulfur, the waters of Ferraria, are used in treating rheumatism and nephritis."
It´s a "must see" location in São Miguel!
