In Quincy, within Squantum Point Park is this marker about birds that stop at this location along their migration routes.
Squantum Point Park is located on Squantum Point, off the road to Marina Park, a mixed use area. The entrance to the park is either via a path along the shore or at the other end of the parking lot. The paths are paved. There are a pair of paths - tracing the former location of the runway for Squantum Point Naval Air Station - that run straight to a point where the Neponset River meets the Boston Harbor. About halfway down the more northerly path is the marker in an alcove.
The marker is about 3 ft tall and has been engraved. There are three birds featured and engraved in the stone, and a short description that includes the habitats in this park that these birds are attracted to.
The last words in the stone are, "What birds do you see nesting here?"
