The plaque, attached to the external wall of the Chapel, reads:

The round stone in the roadway
opposite this point marks the spot
where, on Wednesday the 13th October
1915, at 9-25 PM a bomb from a
German Zeppelin struck the ground
and exploded, shattering the
Chapel windows and doing other
material damage.

The Lincoln's Inn website mentions the event in an article about the Chapel. It reads:

Unfortunately two windows were lost in 1915 when a bomb from a Zeppelin fell in Old Square. In the second world war all the windows were removed and stored safely.
