In Greek mythology, Rhea was one of the twelve children of Uranus and Gaia - the original Titans.

The second largest Saturn moon Rhea is named after her.

Rhea was discovered in 1672 by Giovanni Domenico Cassini.

A relief of the Titaness Rhea is part of the Gigantomachy Frieze in Berlin's Pergamon Museum.
