A PLACA

O LOCAL

THE PLAQUE
The plaque is placed at the start of the pedestrian and cycling route in the city side. It's a metal plaque placed in a granite stone pedestal and it reads:

SIDEWALK OF THE MARGINS OF AVE
Partnership for Urban Regeneration-PRU

Inaugurated by His Excellency
The President of the Republic,
Prof. Dr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva
on January 21, 1012

THE LOCATION
"A pleasant pedestrian and cycling route connects the Urban Park of Rabada to the heart of the city. The banks of the Rio Ave were reclassified along 1.4 km - length of the course through which you can walk, run or ride a bike, against the backdrop of the pleasant scenery of Santo Tirso. It was intended to act simultaneously on the riverfront of the Ave river and establish a pedestrian / cycling link between the riverfront that is closer to the city center of Santo Tirso and the Rabada Urban Park. This allows pedestrian and cycling path to future continuity in the city, a network of pedestrian and bike paths that will create a structured and with sufficient scale compared to motorized mobility model adopted by most of the population alternative."
