This memorial is located some steps west of the railway station of Preda, the last station west of Albula Tunnel. The plaque is mounted at a rock that killed three construction workers in a rockfall. The date of this incidence is not mentioned, neither the date of dedication, nor who erected it.
The plaque says:
"Bau des Albulatunnels. Stein, der 3 Arbeiter erschlug. 13 andere verloren noch das Leben. Ihr Opfer sei nicht vergessen."
English: "Construction of the Albula tunnel. The rock, that killed 3 workers. Another 13 lost their lives. Their sacrifice is not forgotten."
The Albula railway line, one of the most spectacular in the Swiss Alps, was built between 1900 and 1903.
