The early days of the space program preceded the creation of the Kennedy Space Center. During those early years, the space program operated several miles south at Cape Canaveral and Patrick AFB. A popular hangout for the astronauts was the Moon Hut restaurant. Frequently the astronauts had breakfast here.
The "Moon Hut Restaurant" has become the "Moon Hut Room" in La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant. The owner is preserving the room and all the artifacts. You are free to enter the room and spend as much time as you like viewing the memorabilia.
My wife and I were led here searching for Geocache GC22N70. We had a Mexican Dinner (food was great) then spent about an hour in the Moon Hut Room.
