In Norwood, on the northbound side of US Route 1, is the Chateau Restaurant, which has a large neon sign by the road.
The restaurant is located about a mile north of the interchange with Nahatan Street. There is a rotary over the highway - be careful here.
The sign is a standalone installation, with two parts - the neon part above, and an ever-changing lighted sign, below. The neon part has the following text on both sides:
"Chateau
Italian Food
Liquors
Pizza"
Each of the letters are outlined in pinkish neon tubing.
The sign was in good shape, though on one side, "Pizza" wasn't lit.
The Chateau Restaurant is a family-owned 'mini-chain' of restaurants in eastern Massachusetts. They provide good food with views of the Norwood Country Club golf course.
