This is the rock station in the city of Cranbrook, which broadcasts right from downtown Cranbrook.

A member of the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group, this and its sister station, CJDR in Fernie, advertise themselves as The Kootenay's Best Rock. The station is located at #19 9th Avenue South in downtown Cranbrook.

CHDR began broadcasting in 1957 on AM radio as CKEK at 570 Khz. In 2002 the station moved from AM to FM at 102.9 Mhz. and became CHDR.

The broadcast tower is right on top of the building. It's less than 100 feet or so high as they aren't trying to reach far, given that they're surrounded by a lot of mountains.
