This Museum is rarely visited, and in the boondocks, but it contains items recovered from the nearby archaeological site of Khao Ka, which stretches back a thousand years and more. The Museum is about a half hour drive north of the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat, in southern Thailand.

When I arrived, ready to visit the archaeological site, I was in fact surprised to see the museum present, I was not aware of its existence. Then, I was not surprised to see that the Museum was closed. In order to visit the Museum I had to ask around the adjacent village, and in the restaurant over the road. After a few minutes the village network kicked in. Two people arrived with the keys, unlocked and gestured me in. So far, so good, but no one spoke English.

The museum consisted of a single room with a collection of artefacts, all with Thai only descriptions. The artefacts are all of Hindu religious faith, plus a few displays of the site. I did sign the visitors book, which averaged a Thai visitor once a month.

The turn off to the Museum is marked on the main road, the Museum road itself is unnamed. If you wish to visit, take a bus heading from Nakhon Si to Surat Thani city, and ask the driver to drop you off. Walk or hitch a ride to the Museum.
