Location of site: Mill St. (CR-625E), 2 blks. N. of CR-2550N, Burnt Prairie
On Site an Illinois Historic Marker: (in photos taken by other since my visit the marker is either knocked down in the grass, or missing altogether):
Marker erected by: The White County Historical Society and the Illinois State Historical Society
Date marker erected: 1967

Marker Text:
This mill, started in 1833 by Andrew Smith, was continued by his descendants, the Morrison family, until 1984. The flint mill stones, imported from France, have been grinding corn since 1859. The town named Liberty by Scotch pioneers who settled here around 1816 was later renamed Burnt Prairie.
