On the side of the Mountain Man Outdoors Sports Shop at 901 Baker Street, this is a large mural. It is composed of several slices which depict about ten separate aspects of the city's history, from the coming of the CPR to the growth of the forest industry to the building of Cranbrook's downtown core. Very well done, it definitely makes note of the CPR and the fact that it was the railway that has been Cranbrook's lifeblood since it arrived in 1898. Cranbrook was made a divisional headquarters, with large railway yards and repair shops and a round table, one of the very few in BC. As a result of the CPR's presence, Cranbrook has become the largest city in the Kootenay Region.
