Inelegant and completely utilitarian, one of the staple implements of the farm of yesteryear was the farm wagon. Yesterday's pickup truck, it hauled everything and everyone and was in constant use throughout the year. Many families had only the farm wagon for transportation and used it for trips to town for groceries and even for Sunday-go-to-Meeting.

This particular wagon, in its present configuration, would have been the horse drawn equivalent of today's cab and chassis truck - sold without a bed or van body, making it very versatile.

A very flexible tool, the wagon could have mounted on it various other implements such as orchard sprayers, water and fuel tanks and even stationary engines which would be hauled about on the farm to the sites of various activities requiring its motive power. With a flat bed atop it became a hay rack and with a box it became a grain or freight wagon. Made mostly of wood with only a few parts of steel, these wagons served their purpose for many decades, some centenarian wagons still being in use today.
Type and Quantity:
Though this is the only wagon in the equipment building, there are over two dozen examples of agricultural implements, three tractors, and a truck in the collection.
