One of the staple implements of the farm of yesteryear was the farm wagon. Yesterday's pickup truck, it hauled everything and everyone and was in constant use throughout the year. Many families had only the farm wagon for transportation and used it for trips to town for groceries and even for Sunday-go-to-Meeting.
A very flexible tool, the wagon could have mounted on it various other implements such as orchard sprayers, water and fuel tanks and even small engines which would be hauled about on the farm to the sites of various activities requiring its motive power. With a flat bed atop it became a hay rack. Made mostly of wood with only a few parts of steel, these wagons served their purpose for many decades, some centenarian wagons still being in use today.
