The town:
Seltisberg is a municipality in the district of Liestal in the canton of Basel-Landschaft with a population of about 1,200.
Seltisberg was first mentioned in 1194. In 1305 it became property of the bishop of Basel, in 1400 of the city of Basel. Since 1833 it is part of the canton Basel-Landschaft.
Today Seltisberg is mainly a residential town with some agriculture and little local businesses.
