In Marlborough, along U.S. Route 20, is the Wayside Country Store's Candy and Novelty Shop.

The candy shop is located in a small strip mall on the south side of the highway. It is located in an extention of the main building, the Henry Ford's or Wayside Country Store. However, though there is a direct connection between the country store and the candy store, the candy store has its own entrance and the inside is exclusively devoted to confectionary items.

The room is dominated by the island where there are jars and boxes of loose candy items. Below in glass, are the specialty (and often more expensive) chocolates, truffles, and other items that can be bought separately. Also, fudge is available where you can buy by weight. In the center staff is there to help you in making your selections, weighing the contents and finalizing the purchase. Along the walls are various candy items including the usual bars and boxes, and large and bulk candy.

The web page for the store shows the variety of items that they offer. Here is a partial offering:
-Candy necklace
-Candy saucers
-Bit O' Honey
-Mary Janes
-Necco Wafers
-Bullseyes
-Wax bottles
-Wax fangs
-Honey horehounds
-Squirrel Nut Zippers
-Tootsie Rolls
-Jelly Bellies

They also offer sugar-free candy.

May of these items can be ordered and shipped on line.

Their logo: "By the scoop, by the piece, by the pound". It has been in continuous operation since 1929.
