St. Stephens is, by all accounts, the oldest standing church in Creston. It is right beside the highway passing through, on Northwest Boulevard, across the highway and a bit north of the two elevators in Creston.

A bright white wood frame church with blue trim and a shiny aluminum roofed steeple, St. Stephens has an obvious appearance of age, much more so than any other church in Creston. This is rightly so, as it was built in 1909. A church manse was built in 1910. Much later, in 1959, a Christian Education wing was added to the church. Though no longer used as an education centre it remains in use as the church hall.
The congregation was established in 1907, two years before the construction of the church. When church union created the United Church of Canada in 1925, the congregation voted against union and has since remained within The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
