A single-engine Cessna plane stalled, lost altitude, bumped a retention pond embankment, bumped a retention pond embankment, bounced and smacked into a fence before crashing into stacks of wooden pallets behind Lowe's Home Improvement store at 500 State Road 19 at about 11 a.m. Friday March 21, 2014.
The two passengers, 73-year-old Richard Carrara, and 71-year-old Malcom Clevenstine were transported to UF Health Shands in Gainesville, Florida. After nearly 12 hours 71-year-old Malcolm P. Clemenstine was pronounced deceased. Both men were from Palm Coast, Florida.
